During the six months appointment by the Minister to address urgent matters SACSA conducted the following site visits:

SACSA considered the Dragonfly launch license with their satellite launched on the 3rd of January 2023. SACSA went on tour of space facilities in the Western Cape during the week of 22-23 of February meeting Astronomical Observatory Centre (Pty) Ltd, as a follow-up in Stellenbosch on their previous application.

It further met with Newspace Systems (Pty) Ltd. Newspace Systems (Pty) Ltd is a multinational spacecraft components and sub-systems manufacturer headquartered in South Africa, with branches in North America, Europe, and Oceania and they are leaders in the area of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) products.  NSS are supporting the majority of the commercial spacecraft manufacturers, including several blue-chip companies and constellations of 500 satellites and more. SACSA was impressed with Newspace performance over the years. During the same time the Council met with  Dragonfly Aerospace (Pty) Ltd 0n 23 February SACSA had a follow-up meeting with Dragonfly, company manufacturing satellites and has a huge modern fully equipped facility based in the Western Cape meeting the required ISO standards. The Council learnt that the AGRISAT was still operating well, after commissioning.
